Terms of Service

Welcome to Homeroom.AI. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at www.homeroom-ai.com and the Byte-Sized AI web application (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Homeroom.AI ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

The Service is designed for children ages 5–8 under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. To create an account, you must be:

• At least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction
• A parent or legal guardian of the child who will use the Service

Children may not create accounts on their own. All accounts are created and managed by parents/guardians, and parental consent is required before a child can access the learning content (see our Privacy Policy for details on our COPPA-compliant consent process).

2. Accounts

When you create an account, you are responsible for:

• Providing accurate information
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Supervising your child's use of the Service as appropriate

You may create child profiles under your parent account. Each child profile requires only a first name and age.

3. Free Trial and Subscriptions

Free Access

The first 2 adventures in Byte-Sized AI are available at no cost and do not require a credit card or subscription. No payment information is collected to access free content.

Paid Subscriptions

To access all 10 adventures and future content, a paid subscription is required. We offer:

• Monthly plan: $4.99 per month, billed monthly
• Yearly plan: $39.99 per year, billed annually

All payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal accessible from within the app, or by emailing help@homeroom-ai.com. Upon cancellation:

• You retain access to paid content until the end of your current billing period
• Your account and child profiles remain intact
• You can resubscribe at any time

Refunds

If you are not satisfied with your subscription, contact us at help@homeroom-ai.com within 14 days of your initial purchase for a full refund. Refunds are not available for renewal charges — please cancel before your renewal date to avoid unwanted charges.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service's content without permission
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service
• Misrepresent your identity or relationship to a child

5. Intellectual Property

All content in the Service — including but not limited to text, illustrations, character designs (including Byte the robot), game mechanics, audio, animations, and code — is the property of Homeroom.AI and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any content on the Service without our express written permission.

The Homeroom.AI name, logo, and "Byte-Sized AI" name are trademarks of Homeroom.AI.

6. Content and Accuracy

We strive to provide accurate, age-appropriate educational content about artificial intelligence. However, the Service is for educational and entertainment purposes and should not be considered a substitute for formal education or professional advice. We may update, modify, or remove content at any time.

7. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by downtime.

8. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by emailing help@homeroom-ai.com. Upon account deletion, all associated data (including child profiles) will be permanently removed per our Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homeroom.AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Homeroom.AI from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users via email and update the "Last Updated" date at the top. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
