💡 How It Started
Homeroom.AI began with a simple question: "How do I explain AI to my child?" As a parent of a young daughter growing up in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, the founder saw a gap — there were no tools designed to teach little kids what AI actually is, how it learns, or how to use it wisely.
So instead of waiting for someone else to build it, they built it themselves. What started as bedtime-story explanations turned into Byte-Sized AI — a series of 10 interactive comic-book adventures that introduce children to real AI concepts through play, stories, and a lovable robot guide named Byte.

To make AI literacy as natural and accessible as learning to read. Every child deserves to understand the technology that will shape their future — and we believe the best time to start is right now, while the wonder and curiosity are strongest.
Meet Byte
Byte is a friendly purple-and-gold robot with a lightbulb antenna, wheels instead of feet, and an LED screen face that's always smiling. As the mascot and guide of Byte-Sized AI, Byte leads kids through every adventure — explaining what AI is, how it thinks, and why it matters. Byte makes complex topics simple, turning "artificial intelligence" into something a five-year-old can understand and a parent can trust.

Each adventure follows the same kid-friendly format: Byte introduces the topic through colorful comic-book panels, then guides the child through an interactive mini-game that reinforces what they learned. No reading required for most activities — just tap, drag, and play. The entire experience is designed for tablets and desktops, with big touch targets and sounds that make every interaction feel rewarding.

Children's privacy is not an afterthought at Homeroom.AI — it is the foundation. The platform is fully COPPA compliant with no behavioral tracking, no advertising, and no data collection from children. We use privacy-first analytics (Umami), require verifiable parental consent before account creation, and give parents full control over their child's experience.
There is no social interaction, no user-generated content, and no external links within the learning experience. When a child plays Byte-Sized AI, they are in a safe, closed environment.
